What made you choose to study at NTU?
“The personality of the students representing the university at a UCAS exhibition I attended, along with the course description which mentioned the teaching of puppetry and the making of models.”
Has the course included any industry competitions or placements?
"I’ve had the opportunity to undertake two industry placements. I worked with Stephen Tiplady, a shadow puppet director, and Amelia Plimoth as an assistant designer creating shadow puppets and props. It was a great networking opportunity which led to my second placement with the Ding Foundation."
Has the course included any guest lectures or speakers?
“Last year we had a guest lecture from Sophie Jump, an artistic director from Birmingham Opera, which I particularly enjoyed.”
What do you think about the course staff?
“They’re great! They are always prepared to help and go the extra mile for you.”
How do you find the facilities available to you?
“The studio is great and functional, and the library is a valuable resource. I’m counting on the academic support system that the library have in place for my final year.”
What do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?
"Everything is close together and everyone is very friendly around campus. The resources the city offers in terms of cultural activities are great and many."
Why would you recommend studying BA (Hons) Theatre Design?
“The course will prepare you academically and professionally for a career in the theatre industry, and most of all it’s fun.”
