What were the key features that attracted you to your course and NTU?
When I was looking at History courses at university, I discovered that NTU combined both History and Film & TV. Whilst History was my main interest, I had a passion for film too. NTU gave me the opportunity to further my interest and knowledge in two different subject areas that I am enthusiastic about. My course at NTU did not put emphasis on exams. Instead, they offer alternative assessments which has created less stress for me when it comes to submitting my assignments.
What would you describe as the real strengths of your course?
My course allows me to take both areas of my history and film modules and utilize them to further support my knowledge. The staff at NTU are incredibly friendly, passionate, and helpful which really helped me engage in my modules. In my first year, I was nervous that I wouldn't have enough subject knowledge in my film course as I hadn't studied it at A level. However, the NTU libraries and online facilities as well as the support of my teachers, made me feel more confident in my film course.
What topics / projects have you really felt engaged with?
In my first year, I chose to do an International ciné club module which allowed me to engage with different films around the world. This introduced me to different directors and genres furthering my passion for film.
