What motivated you to pursue an MBA, and why did you choose Nottingham Business School?
"I wanted to take the opportunity to learn more about business and culture within larger environments, and enhance my knowledge to support my teams and clients. I chose NBS because of their focus on personalised experiences and having been an Alumni Fellow for some years prior."
How has the MBA programme at Nottingham Business School impacted your career progression and personal growth?
"It has provided me with numerous models and strategies that has enhanced my working practices and encouraged me to both pursue more governance level roles and growth within my business – enabling growth in my team and the number of clients we support."
What is your current job title and responsibilities?
"Director, Cloud Artisans – leading a consultancy, design and web development team working on a range of digital transformation and organisational development programmes. We have a passion for Inclusive, Accessible and Sustainable projects with clients who help others.
Chair, The Institute of Leadership – leading the board of the global professional body for leaders, responsible for supporting development of the organisation and serving the 55,000 leaders in our community.
Associate, Always Possible – consultant working with a range of mainly public sector clients to develop impact, training and development programmes.
Associate Director, Upstart Projects – overseeing training and consultancy programmes that support product development, stakeholder engagement and strategy development for youth, cultural and public sector clients."
Can you describe a key project or accomplishment in your current role that your MBA helped you achieve?
"It was the encouragement of MBA lecturers that led me to applying to join the board of The Institute of Leadership – successfully being selected and then elected by members; becoming the youngest ever board member. My learning from the MBA enabled me to apply for and become elected as Chair in 2022."
What aspects of the NBS MBA programme did you find most valuable?
"The consultancy project, working with a team on a very interesting analysis of a digital transformation programme for a local authority."
Were there any specific skills or knowledge areas from the MBA that have been particularly useful in your career?
"Directors Perspective and Strategic Renewal and Transformation modules."
What advice would you give to a prospective student considering the programme?
"Embrace the range of modules, open your mind to new ideas and enjoy the team oriented projects."
What was your favourite part about MBA Reconnect?
"The excellent lecture sessions on contemporary topics; applying academic thought to practical applications."
