What motivated you to pursue an MBA, and why did you choose Nottingham Business School?

"Based on the fact that I had already worked 10 years in Technology sector, I chose to pursue an MBA to gain a higher level of education than a regular master’s degree, and to achieve a broader 360-degree view of a company. I chose NBS because it was the only university in the UK offering a combination of an MBA and a specialisation in Digital Marketing. Additionally, I wanted an international experience in a renowned business school in the UK, alongside the lovely university city of Nottingham."

How has the MBA programme at Nottingham Business School impacted your career progression and personal growth?

"After returning from my MBA at NBS, I significantly increased my income in new roles in comparison to roles I had before going to Nottingham. Moreover, I developed new leadership and Digital Marketing skills during the MBA, which led me to my first regional roles with responsibilities for the Latin American region."

What is your current job title and responsibilities?

"My last role was Product Strategy Director for Latin America. I was responsible for setting the regional go-to-market (GTM) strategy for multiple brands of technology in B2B and B2C sectors, driving incremental revenue and profitability for the company."

Can you describe a key project or accomplishment in your current role that your MBA helped you achieve?

"In my role as Regional Digital Marketing Manager for Digital Services, I had to develop multiple digital strategies, some of which were executed regionally, while others were implemented locally. My knowledge of various frameworks for planning, executing, and measuring digital strategies, which I gained during my digital marketing courses with Professor Mojtaba Poorrezaei, was invaluable."

What aspects of the NBS MBA programme did you find most valuable?

"Many aspects!

  • Some professors were exceptional!
  • International consultancy in South Africa was an incredibly challenging and insightful experience to me.
  • Academic English sessions were so useful for me as international student to write in an academic way, as my first language is Spanish!

Library and its flexible hours and extensive collection of books and digital content."

Were there any specific skills or knowledge areas from the MBA that have been particularly useful in your career?

"I particularly value the critical thinking training I received, the foundations for setting business strategies, and the confidence to network, even when I attend an event alone."

Did you participate in any extracurricular activities, or leadership opportunities during your MBA? If so, how did they contribute to your experience?

"I participated in employability activities and academic English sessions and those helped me to get better jobs."

How has the network you built at NBS influenced your career or professional opportunities?

"Absolutely! I still keep in touch with several classmates and professors. It's wonderful to recall the experiences we shared and to have their support as I navigate my career."
