How have you found Nottingham as a student City?

I was offered a Masters place by a few other universities. However, there are many aspects I considered before choosing Nottingham. Considering the balance between exposure, diversity and opportunities, I felt Nottingham was the right place for me. The city embodies the perfect blend of serenity and convenience, offering a peaceful atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of a crowded local. As a student, getting around the city is easy, thanks to the well-connected public transportation system making it easy for us to explore the city and travel to campus. I can also travel around different parts of UK easily with train. If you are a fan of Batman, you will definitely need to visit Wollaton Hall in Nottingham! :)

Have you felt supported through your studies?

I am deeply appreciative of the unwavering support I receive from members of NTU across various departments. First of all, I would like to extend my gratitude to my course leader, Dr. Rosalind Rae, who graciously devoted her time to meet with me during my initial struggles with adapting to the new education system. Her assistance was invaluable as she even provided me with a personalized timetable, offering guidance on managing my studies, which significantly eased my transition. Secondly, I am grateful for the plethora of online events and workshops offered through NTU Library, which have greatly enhanced my academic writing and referencing skills, ultimately aiding me in effectively managing my assignments. Furthermore, the Global Lounge serves as a wonderful retreat amidst challenging assignment periods, providing a serene environment to unwind. Here, I have the opportunity to indulge in complimentary coffee and tea while forging new friendships with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Growing up I have always dreamed of pursuing my higher education overseas, in hope one day it will come true with my own efforts. Having a sister who already resides in UK offered invaluable insights as I embarked on this journey. Furthermore, my late mother’s unwavering encouragement instilled in me the courage to pursue my dream, which is a tribute to her legacy. The education system emphasizes high-quality teaching methods, including mixture of interactive lectures, theory, workshops, practical sessions and independent studies. By studying in this top-tier academic environment, I am confident to receive a quality education that pave new way for a successful future.
