More about Sully
Originally from Atlanta, USA, I am currently living in the UK studying MSc Management at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). Before deciding to study abroad I was searching for work whilst volunteering as an assistant coach for a Lacrosse team back in the USA.
I knew I wanted to study a graduate programme in business and the UK had always appealed to me because of the cheaper costs of studying. When looking for courses and universities I saw that NTU were looking for a head coach and Lacrosse players which lead me to looking more at their courses. I saw the information about the MSc Management course and found that it really suited me. When I made my decision I applied with help from the TeamGLEAS agents.
I really feel that this course and my time here at NTU is going to help me in my future career. There’s more self-study and freedom studying in the UK and I’ve found it an easy transition to student life here. I would recommend anyone that has an interest in business to come and study here at Nottingham Business School.
My favourite part of the course is how multicultural and diverse it is. I really like the English accent and i’m going to miss that when I go home. The city is so student-friendly and safe, plus it has great transport links which makes it really easy for me to get around. When I arrived I found it really easy to meet new people (and I even arrived a month before everyone else for Lacrosse pre-season training!) But Welcome Week was a great way to meet lots of new people.
If I could give any advice to my fellow American students I would say that studying in the UK is definitely an option for you – even if it seems scary and non viable! The truth is it’s cheaper at postgraduate level and the fact you can study abroad but in your own language is such a bonus.
