More about Hannah

Why NTU…

Why did you choose NTU and your course?

I have always loved social sciences and after looking into the prospectus I loved the content provided! The open day made me realise that NTU was the best option for me- as I really bonded with the lecturers that I met on the day.

Could you describe your experience of being an NTU student?

Even though I experienced half of my degree during covid, I still feel like I have had a brilliant experience at NTU, I have loved all of the opportunities for students to try new things such as sports and the nightlife like the SU! I feel like being an NTU student has expanded my life experience and has made me more well rounded!

How would you describe the support from your tutors, university staff and student services?

All of my lecturers have been absolutely amazing! I feel like I’ve had so much support from everyone about more than just university work!

Outside of the Lecture Theatre…

What three words would you use to describe Nottingham?

Vibrant, exciting, fast-paced

Where is a good place to eat, drink or visit in the city?

I really enjoyed going for drinks and food in the waterside in Nottingham in West Bridgeford! However I’ve also loved places like slug and lettuce, lost property and bar bar!

Did you find it easy to make friends and settle in at NTU?

Yes! I stayed in byron halls for first year and bonded with the girls from my flat so much! We’ve all stayed in contact and I’ve made so many lovely friends on my course!

The Next Steps…

Has the employability team helped you plan for life beyond NTU?

Yes!

What would you say to someone who is thinking of applying to NTU?

Do it! Studying at Nottingham has been the stepping stone I needed to realise what I wanted to do for my future prospects, as well as providing me with the best three years ever!

What is one thing you wish you knew before starting at NTU?

This may be a very generic student answer but don’t buy too many nice kitchen things in first year! It’ll all go missing!
