Event details

Join the brilliant Myki Tuff and Friendly Fire Band for an hour of reggae in University Hall!

Myki 'Tuff' Richards has performed as a vocalist with Friendly Fire Band since 2015. He started out as a professional bass player with Salem Foundation and moved on to playing with Studio One singers Eddie Fitzroy, Jennifer Lara, Ranking Joe, Anthony Johnson, Earl 16, and Leroy Smart. He later formed a number of backing bands and toured Europe, the USA and Jamaica supporting the likes of Dennis Brown, Tippa Irie, Sweetie Irie and Peter Spence, Eek-A-Mouse, Mykal Rose, and Bounty Killer.

Friendly Fire Band is one of the most active live reggae and dancehall outfits in the UK's traditional reggae capital, Birmingham. Composed of an international line-up of musicians, Friendly Fire Band comfortably juggles traditional Roots, Dancehall or One Drop riddims, and has become an institution on the Birmingham Reggae Scene, having backed a host of artists from Dawn Penn to the late Michael Prophet, and releasing music on the Friendly Fire Music label.
