Event details
One day a year we put to a side to celebrate the spookiness of things. What could be scarier than the end of the world or werewolves. These are all linked to astronomy, but how?
Many predictions of the end of the world across the world include aspects of astronomy or celestial alignments as precursors of the imminent end. Sequences of lunar eclipses are one of these. But the Moon also features in werewolf and other lycanthropy stories. So somehow the Moon connects us to scary and terrifying things. Join Dr Daniel Brown (NTU) in his talk Apocalypse, Blood, and Werewolves - The Scary Side of the Moon. Here you will find out more about lunar madness and blood moons.
Booking is required for this event while attending in person.
