About the speaker - Sue Hayes
With over 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector, Sue is known for her ability to build great teams and as a result, create and build successful businesses which are customer focussed. With a successful track record, Sue has held a number of senior roles with some of the UK’s leading banks including Barclays and Santander as well as challenger and start up organisations.
This presentation will explore the importance of building the right team to achieve business success, whether in large corporations or small start-ups. Sue will discuss the significance of individual qualities, such as intellect, emotional intelligence, and depth of knowledge, and how these traits impact team dynamics and overall success. She will highlight the critical role of diversity in building strong teams and how individuals, especially those early in their careers, can make a significant impact. Additionally, Sue will explain what makes a great team member and leader, and why moving sideways in a career can be as valuable as progressing upwards. She will also share insights from her experience at Nottingham Building Society, offering real-life examples from her personal career journey.
