About the D&DA Commissions

On the occasion of the Design & Digital Arts building launch, Nottingham School of Art & Design is delighted to present two specially commissioned artworks by design practice Foxall Studio and artist Matt Woodham - both working at the forefront of their respective fields and industries.
Whilst distinct in approach, each commission considers the technological potential within the building; the generosity it awards to different forms of creative practice; and the dynamic collaborative ethos that drives our student and staff community. This community has been central to the realisation of both commissions, actively involved in the production of digital material that is visible across the building and in learning from professional practitioners about the endless possibilities of collaboration and engaging with new equipment & methodologies.

A landmark building for the creative industries in Nottingham

Designed by award-winning architects Hawkins\Brown, and delivered by local architects CPMG, the new Design & Digital Arts Building will place Nottingham as a UK hub for film, television, animation, UX design, games design, graphic design and more

Foxall Studio

Founded in 2006, Foxall Studio has collaborated with global brands such as Vogue, GQ, Google, and YouTube. With expertise in branding, art direction & design, Andrew and Iain lead innovative, experimental projects that challenge traditional approaches to publication, brand building, and education.
