10.00: Welcome by Deputy VC Professor Sharon Huttly, and introduction to the day from Dr Sarah Seymour-Smith and Professor Pam Alldred

10:30 – 12.30: CONSENT EDUCATION AT NTU – What we know about the Consent-is-Everything Programme at NTU)

  • An introduction to the Consent-is-Everything (CIE) Programme
  • The Consent-is-Everything Contextual Evaluation (CIEPCE) Project:
  • Feedback from students on CIE over 3 cohorts
  • Study 1- 6 findings

12:30-1:15:  LUNCH

1.15- 2.15: CONTEXT FOR CONSENT: KEYNOTE PLENARY

  • Professor Carolyn Jackson (Education, Lancaster University, UK) – ‘Lad Cultures’ in Universities
  • Professor Vanita Sundaram (Education, York University, UK) – Then it’s Racialised Too: Intersecting Inequalities and Experiences of Harassment

14:15 -14.30: Comfort Break /Refreshments

NB we anticipate the final session attracting potential research partners primarily.

14.30 -16.00: INTERVENTIONS FOR CONSENT Project Planning - This portion of the day is a round-table discussion of the proposed bid (Universities Talk Consent) with potential external university collaborators

16:00: Optional relocation to The Playwright for informal discussion.
