The Intelligent Buildings conference encompasses a diverse array of disciplines and areas of interest in sustainable building development, where professionals gather from fields such as architecture, design, engineering, information technology, communications, social sciences, governance, and more. Through transcending traditional disciplinary boundaries, this conference aims to facilitate holistic and integrated approaches to intelligent and sustainable building formation, planning, and design.
Programme
The Intelligent Buildings Conference programme is integrated alongside the Smart Buildings and Sustainable Leaders Forum that will feature, keynote speeches, panel discussions, technical sessions, workshops, and exhibitions. These activities provide a platform for experts, and participants to share their research findings, practical experiences, and visionary ideas.
The conference serves as a catalyst for multidisciplinary dialogue, collaboration, and networking, fostering connections among academia, industry, and government sectors, in order to explore the limitless possibilities, confront the challenges, and shape the future of our built environment towards sustainability, resilience, inclusivity, and human well-being.

Paper Submissions
Authors can submit their work in the form of a Full Paper, Short Paper, Poster Paper, or Workshop Paper. Complete papers can be submitted as a Regular Paper, representing completed and validated research, or as a Position Paper, portraying a short report of work in progress or an arguable opinion about an issue discussing ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research focused on one of the conference topic areas.
Authors should submit a paper in English, carefully checked for correct grammar and spelling, addressing one or several of the conference areas or topics. Each paper should clearly indicate the nature of its technical/scientific contribution, and the problems, domains or environments to which it is applicable.
When submitting a complete paper please note that only original papers should be submitted. Authors are advised to follow ethical best practices regarding plagiarism and self-plagiarism thoroughly before submitting and must make sure that their submissions do not substantially overlap work which has been published elsewhere or simultaneously submitted to a journal or another conference with proceedings. Papers that contain any form of plagiarism will be rejected without reviews.
All papers must be submitted through the online website form and should follow the instructions and templates that can be found under Guidelines and Templates. After the paper submission has been successfully completed, authors will receive an automatic confirmation e-mail.
Publications
All accepted complete papers will be presented at the conference and published in the IOP Open Access proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and on digital support.
For the accepted papers, at least one author must register as the presenter by the early registration deadline to be included in the proceedings. All authors of accepted papers will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers to Intelligent Building International Journal
Final Submission Page limit (including references) :
- Full papers: 5-10 pages
- Short papers: 3-4 pages
Registration Fees
These prices apply to both paper authors, i.e. speakers, and non-speakers.

All registration types include: access to all conference sessions and keynote lectures, coffee breaks, lunches and conference bag and badge and inclusion IOP Open Access proceedings.
Authors need to register their papers before the Registration Deadline for the corresponding stage, in order to benefit from the early registration fee. After that deadline, the late registration fee is applied.
Abstracts are presented at the conference, like other papers, either orally or as posters, but abstracts are not published in the proceedings.

Guidelines, Benefits and Policies
It is mandatory that the camera-ready, copyright document, registration and payment, are received by the conference by the deadline indicated above as “early registration”.
To register a paper, the participant needs to select the "Speaker" registration. This applies to all types of paper, including poster presentations.
Cancellation Policy for the Conference:
If we receive your written cancellation before 31st August, 2024, the registration fees will be refunded, deducted by an administrative fee of £100. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after 31st August, 2024.
