Event details
The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) 2025 is For a better Future. HMD takes place each year on 27 January and offers time to remember the genocide of 6 million Jews murdered alongside millions of other people killed under Nazi persecution.
This HMD marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp complex. HMD 2025 is an opportunity for people to come together, learn from and about the past, and take actions to make a better future for all.
This event will have reflections from the Jewish Societies (JSOCs) of both Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and University of Nottingham (UoN), keynote speakers from UoN, our Jewish Chaplains and NTU Faith Ambassadors. There will also be readings and musical compositions from students and colleagues.
One of our distinguished guest speakers will be the High Sherriff of Nottinghamshire, Nick Rubins, who will be sharing his reflections on HMD along with presentations from NTU academics.
Please note: You'll need to register to attend this event using the 'reserve your place' button above. Your name will then be added to our registration list which we'll confirm on entrance to the event.
