Event details

This activity is only open to NTU students, staff and alumni.

We are lucky that writer for Hollywood and Bollywood Sara Bodinar is able to join us for a workshop on how to write a monologue – a one person short play where an actor speaks directly to the audience. Come along and create a new character to say the things you’ve always wanted to say, but never dared! Or bring your own story to life. You might even write a winning entry for our NTU Arts Creative Competition, closing on Sunday 23 March. Sara will get us started in the workshop. Join us in person on campus or online via Teams (link sent with booking confirmation).

Following the masterclass, ten students, staff or alumni will have the opportunity to receive an exclusive one hour, one-to-one coaching and mentoring session with Sara. This session will provide in-depth feedback on work developed in the masterclass, along with suggestions for improvement. Performers from Nottingham's Actors Workshop will showcase the monologues at April's Creative Café.

Writing Masterclasses
Try something new by taking your pen for a walk through our Wednesday Writing Masterclasses. In Term Two we're writing about where we come from, life, and even the stage. Our masterclasses are delivered by writers and musicians from Nottingham so you can make connections with the cultural life of the city.
