Event details
Join us at the European Inclusive Communities Challenge Showcase Event, taking place on Wednesday 30 April from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Mansfield Hub.
Organised annually by NTU Global, the European Cities Challenge is a student-focused extracurricular project first launched in 2019. Participants travel to various European cities to research effective and innovative practices then bring back the ideas to inspire local action, in collaboration with Mansfield, Ashfield and Bolsover District Councils. You can read more about previous years’ challenges on our website.
This year’s theme continues to focus on inclusive communities, with a stronger emphasis on encouraging young people to get involved in local decision making and to use community facilities, helping to create more inclusive and sustainable cities.
Over the Easter break, from Sunday 6 April to Thursday 10 April, eight NTU Global staff, four council representatives and around 40 students travelled to Lille, Ghent, The Hague, Rotterdam, Karlsruhe and Heidelberg to network and explore innovative practices in these cities.
At the showcase, students will pitch their recommendations and present posters, shaped by their international research. Councillors will select the best pitch and poster based on creativity, impact and feasibility.
A coach will depart from Dryden Street, City Campus, at 4 pm for participating students and interested NTU colleagues. Alternatively, you’re welcome to meet us directly at the Mansfield Hub.
We hope to see you there to support our students and celebrate their achievements. If you’d like to learn more about the project or express interest in mentoring next year’s challenge, please email ntuglobal@ntu.ac.uk
