Event details

Nottingham Light Night is an annual event which aims to showcase artistic and creative offerings from local communities and boost wellbeing during the darker months.

Organised and produced by Nottingham City Council and It's in Nottingham, Light Night attracts around 50,000 visitors and NTU will be showcasing a variety of different exhibitions, performances and projects this year co-ordinated by NTU Arts in collaboration with Schools and Departments from across the university.

Radiance @ NTU

Location: Newton Reception, Coffee Pod, Alumni Area

Date: Friday 6 and Saturday 7 February, 6 – 9 pm

This exhibition, produced by students from BA (Hons) Furniture and Product Design, BA (Hons) Product Design, and BSc (Hons) Product Design highlights the experimental approach of our students through innovative lighting designs that merge functionality with academic insight.

Interactive Runway

Location: Newton Building

The Department of Fashion invites you to step out of the crowd and onto the catwalk for this live, interactive runway  — no auditions, no limits. Just you, your style, and the walk.

Drumline Glow Stick Performance

Location: Newton Steps

Date: Friday 6 February, 7 – 7.15 pm

Enjoy a high-energy performance from NTU's  Drumline in the heart of City Campus, featuring lights that bring their arrangements to life.

Ibiye Camp: layt de kam late night showing

Location: Bonington Gallery

Date: Friday 6 and Saturday 7 February, 6 – 9 pm

Join Bonington Gallery for a special, late-night opening of their current exhibition, layt de kam, by Ibiye Camp, to coincide with Light Night.

Representation of Identity

This interactive project created by one of our Motion Graphics students is inspired by heritage, creativity and dance, exploring the possibilities of freedom movement by stepping out of your comfort zone.

DaDA Showcase

Location: Design & Digital Arts Building

Date: Friday 6 and Saturday 7 February, 6 – 9 pm

Head to the Design & Digital Arts Building to experience a showcase of creative work by NTU students, staff and Bonington Gallery exhibiting artist, Ibiye Camp.

The History of People's Hall

Location: People's Hall, Heathcoat Street

Date: Friday 6 and Saturday 7 February, 6 – 9 pm

People's Hall, home to the original Nottingham School of Art, will be projecting its history onto the outside of the building. This is part of an experimental project with BA Hons Illustration students who will be creating the projected work.
