    Metronome Sessions: Rowan Rheingans

    Rowan Rheingans is an award-winning fiddle player, banjoist, songwriter and theatre-maker widely regarded as one of the foremost innovators in the English folk scene. Best known for her work with acclaimed bands Lady Maisery, The Rheingans Sisters and Songs of Separation, Rowan has won two BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and is a six-times nominee. Her courageous one woman theatre show Dispatches on the Red Dress won a Fringe First award after a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019. In 2021, Rowan was awarded the Paul Hamlyn Award for composers.

    On his new album, ‘Before And Now Seems Infinite’, Albanese uses modern classical compositions with electronic hues to capture memories of the past. ‘Before And Now Seems Infinite’ is Albanese’s debut album for Universal Music Group’s imprint Mercury KX, following 2018’s ‘By The Deep Sea’ and his soundtrack to the 2019 documentary ‘The Twelve’.
