Hailed as one of the most popular in the classical repertoire, Vaughan Williams’ composition took the number one spot in Classic FM’s Hall of Fame for the eighth time last year.

Anna-Liisa Bezrodny studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, winning their prestigious Gold Medal award in 2006, and has performed as a soloist all over the world.

Accompanying Bezrodny will be Nottinghamshire’s only professional orchestra, English Pro Musica, which comprises of musicians with wide-ranging experience of playing at the highest level.

The evening will also feature the dramatic Sunrise Massby Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo. The piece, sung in four movements and described as a journey from heaven to earth, will be performed by Nottingham Trent University’s (NTU) award-winning Chamber Choir.

Earlier this year, the NTU Chamber Choir were awarded a silver medal at the World Choir Games in Pretoria, South Africa, and also won first place in the mixed choirs category at the 2016 North Wales International Choral Festival.

NTU’s Director of Music, Matthew Hopkins, will conduct the programme. He commented: “This is an evening not to be missed – wonderful music in a fabulous setting, alongside outstanding musicians and an award winning choir.”
