Gobs – Nottingham’s new spoken-word collective

Launched by Bridie Squires, NTU’s former Writer in Residence, and supported by Curated & Created, Gobs is a 3-month programme for emerging writers and artists who want to challenge, move, and say something.

If you’re aged 18 or over and looking to meet like-minded people, develop your creative writing, and experience the stage, Gobs is the place for you!

With exciting workshops infusing poetry, comedy and physical theatre, you’ll develop work to publish and have the opportunity to perform as part of Nottingham Poetry Festival.

With 30 free places up for grabs, make sure you apply before the deadline on Sunday 16 February.

Who can apply?
Gobs is looking for up to 30 emerging writers and artists, aged 18 or over, living, working or studying in Nottinghamshire. You should have less than 3 years' experience in performing or writing creatively.

What’s involved?
Collective members will take part in 7 free creative writing workshops and develop a spoken-word performance for The Gobs Showcase and Anthology as part of Nottingham Poetry Festival.

How to apply
To apply, submit up to 300 words or a 1 minute video to explain why you want to be part of the collective.
