NTU students co-author new publication - You are a Limited Edition

Bethany Fraser, an LLB (Hons) International Law student and Phillip Gwynn, a BSc (Hons) Geography (Physical) student are two of the 25 students and graduates from across the UK that were chosen to co-author the book.

Carefully curated by TG Consulting, the book is “a collection of stories to inspire, empower and provide reassurance that all life experiences help to make you into a limited edition”.  Each student was able to write their own chapter and was encouraged to reflect on their experiences; not just at university but how they have developed into the person they are today.

Bethany’s chapter looks back on her experience of living in a new country after moving to the UK from Spain and other challenges faced as a student, particularly during the pandemic. “For anyone looking for a good pick me up or are about to start their journey at university, I would definitely recommend giving this book a read as there is something for everyone to relate to!” Bethany told us.

Phillip writes about coming to terms with his sexuality and explored challenges that he has faced in the past to feel comfortable with the person that he is today. “Personally, this is a reflection not only on my self-acceptance but also how my confidence has improved dramatically overtime, particularly since I started university.” Phillip explained.

“As I explored the struggles from my past, I learned that it wasn’t a simple case of: “one day, I felt comfortable with myself all of a sudden”. It was therefore a nice self-reflection part of my life and in a way, I learned how far I have actually come as a person since I was a child!” Phillip went on to say.

All profits from the sale of the book go towards supporting young people who face barriers to employment.
