Alumna’s business named Small Business of the Year

Nottingham-based HR consultancy My HR Hub, which was founded by Nottingham Trent University alumna Rebecca Bull, has been named Nottinghamshire’s Small Business of the Year at the Nottinghamshire Live Women in Business Awards.

    Announced in January 2022, the Small Business of the Year award seeks to highlight the best female-owned small business (fewer than 50 employees) in Nottinghamshire that has achieved consistent business growth since being established.

    Rebecca, who graduated with a CIPD in 2001, founded My HR Hub in 2016 after a career in the corporate world to provide bespoke people-first HR solutions to start-up, small, medium and fast-growing businesses in the East Midlands and beyond.

    Commenting on winning the award, Rebecca said: “I am over the moon that we have been named Small Business of the Year.

    “After winning the ‘Sole Trader of the Year’ Award at the 2018 Women in Business Awards in Nottingham, I was asked by a lot of people if I planned to carry on by myself or continue to grow and take on a team.

    “Well, I took the plunge in 2020 and - mid-pandemic – recruited a team of 3. Without a doubt, the team have enabled 2021 to be our biggest year of growth yet. We support some incredible businesses spanning 25 sectors across the UK and internationally and are proud to work with each and every one of them.

    “To be named Small Business of the Year is a testament to our team and personally a very proud moment.

    “We look forward to 2022 and to helping more businesses navigate through the many challenges and opportunities this new business world is bringing.”

    The Nottinghamshire Live Women in Business Awards, sponsored by Hillarys blinds, are now in their eighth year and aim to shine a spotlight on women in Nottinghamshire who have triumphed in business and recognise their inspiring work and achievements from the last 12 months.
