NTU recognised for dedication to supporting Student Enterprise

There’s cause for celebration as NTU Enterprise team member brings home a national prize.

Katrina Starkie with award

Katrina Starkie, Space and Community Manager at the Dryden Enterprise Centre (DEC) scooped the ‘Rising Star in Enterprise Education’ accolade at the 2023 National Enterprise Educator Awards. The award recognises an exceptional individual at the early stage of their enterprise or entrepreneurship education or career.

Exceptional contribution

The judges highlighted Katrina for making an exceptional contribution, whilst demonstrating potential for transformational future impact on the development and delivery of enterprise and entrepreneurship support. Alongside the award, Katrina also received £500.

Reflecting on her nomination and subsequent award win, Katrina said: "Being part of the Enterprise team and working at the DEC is an absolute blast and I love working with entrepreneurs, from students to established businesses, and planning all sorts of weird and wonderful things, from cheese parties to escape rooms, to help people connect and learn.

Massive thanks to the Enterprise team for supporting me to learn the ropes (still lots of that to do!) and letting me run wild with my ideas.”
