Staff and students from Nottingham Trent University’s School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences (ARES) made a strong impression at this year’s Notts County Show, held on 10 May at the Newark Showground. The event, hosted by the Newark and Notts Agricultural Society, saw ARES staff and students welcoming guests at the NTU stand, acting as stewards and volunteers, and even competing in the lawnmower races.
Highlights of the day include Neil for turning out the prize-winning Lincoln Red bull, and Julia Davies for receiving a coveted Services to Agriculture award, presented by the Newark and Notts Agricultural Society for her outstanding service and contributions in support of the charity’s mission to promote primary agriculture and related industries.
The day was a celebration of community, achievement, and ARES’s ongoing commitment to the rural and agricultural sector.

The Further Education (FE) team were on-hand at the show to talk to visitors interested in college courses at Brackenhurst as well as undergraduate courses, all at the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences.
