University of Sanctuary: welcoming sanctuary seekers across NTU and Nottingham

NTU has a proud tradition of providing a place of support, safety and inclusion for academics and young people from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds. We're committed to providing a welcoming space for all sanctuary seekers in and around the NTU community.

In partnership with the University of Nottingham, we've been awarded University of Sanctuary status. This award recognises our long track record and focus on supporting those seeking sanctuary through outreach, research, training, and educational opportunity. Our universities work together to promote sanctuary and support those who are threatened or displaced by conflict or persecution.

NTU and the University of Nottingham are the first institutions in the country to put in a joint application for University of Sanctuary under the pioneering Universities for Nottingham Project, which aims to benefit our place, peoples and communities.
