Community organisations

We're committed to improving outcomes for staff and students, local communities and society as a whole. We work collaboratively with many community groups, charities and not-for-profit organisations, sharing resources and expertise to make a positive difference.

Community Engagement and Volunteering

We effectively mobilise NTU staff and students to help make a real, sustainable difference to communities. Through mutually beneficial partnerships with stakeholders we coordinate appropriate opportunities such as volunteering or subject-related projects and can put you in touch with colleagues who organise placements or research, for example.

Navigate

At Nottingham Trent University, we believe that although refugees face significant barriers to accessing university, outreach work can play a vital role in providing the extra support necessary to help navigate those additional hurdles.

We've established Navigate, our Refugee Outreach Programme, which offers:

  • opportunities to find out more about the UK higher education system and accessing finance
  • tours and academic taster sessions
  • English-language support at evening classes
  • an annual summer school.
