Welcome to NTU's Student Mentor programme

Every first-year undergraduate student at NTU is assigned a Student Mentor, who studies the same of a similar course to them in a higher year and helps new students settle into life at NTU.

What is a Student Mentor?

Find out more about Student Mentoring at NTU

Starting university is a big step. At NTU, we want to make it as smooth as possible. That's why we've developed the Student Mentoring programme; designed to help students to navigate their university journey with ease and confidence. Our programme connects first-year students with experienced Student Mentors studying the same or similar courses. Student Mentors will provide beneficial information, guidance, and support to help you adjust to university life.

Welcome Workshops are co-facilitated by Student Mentors and are delivered to first-year undergraduate students as part of their course induction at NTU. They're embedded in every course and aim to introduce students to their course community, build connections and enhance a sense of belonging.

Each academic school has a CERT Project Lead. These staff members support the implementation and development the Student Mentor scheme and Welcome Workshops in each academic school. For more information on working with Student Mentors in your course or guidance on Welcome Workshops, please contact your CERT Project Lead:
