Working with Young People

Working with young people in various contexts/settings and wanting an independent perspective upon practice and/or policy then contact our youth team.

We can offer a wealth of experience from across the sector (youth work, youth justice, alternative curriculum, restorative justice/practice, informal education, social education, social pedagogy, social work, arts and media, voice and influence, participation etc.)

  • Evaluation of practice:

Offering an independent evaluation process utilising the organisation/agency’s own evaluation toolkit or one commissioned via the team.

  • Policy Briefing:

Reviewing, appraising, or evaluating policy changes and/or implementation.

  • Application of alternative methods:

Considering and exploring alternative methods using informed methodology to create solution focused actions.

  • Strategic and/or Operational Leadership and Management:

Reviewing, appraising, or evaluating current and/or future goal setting.

Dr Andrew Harris

Dr Andrew Harris is a Senior Lecturer in the Psychology department at NTU, and a member of the International Gaming Research Unit (IGRU). Andrew specialises in behavioural addictions, with a focus on gambling and risk-taking behaviour. His recent research focuses on the structural characteristics of electronic gambling products, exploring how factors such as the speed of games impairs executive control functioning and impulsive actions and choices.

With experience as a consultant for large betting companies, and leading NTU’s STEPin project aimed at preventing online harm, Andrew is available to deliver consultancy services to review responsible gambling practices and peer review of gambling education materials.
