Bolsover Net Zero Innovation Programme

The Bolsover Net Zero Innovation Programme has now concluded.

The Bolsover Net Zero Innovation Programme supported local businesses with carbon-reduction initiatives designed to cut emissions, reduce operational costs, and strengthen the sustainable business case.

Funded by the East Midlands Combined County Authority and the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the programme provided a package of free support to SMEs and sole traders in the Bolsover district. This included bespoke on‑site audits, consultancy, and carbon management workshops that helped businesses identify cost‑saving opportunities and build a competitive edge with sustainability‑conscious customers and clients.

Businesses also benefited from regular sustainability networking events, which offered opportunities to connect with peers and hear from senior academics at Nottingham Trent University and industry experts in carbon reduction and sustainability.

The programme was delivered by Nottingham Trent University’s School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment (ADBE) and Nottingham Business School (NBS), bringing together specialist expertise in carbon reduction strategies and sustainable business practice.

This support was available to SMEs and sole traders with on‑site premises in the Bolsover district who were looking to reduce operational costs and take meaningful steps towards carbon reduction.
