Hello, my name’s Kotana Hau and I'm the NTU Country Advisor for Malawi.
We have a long history of welcoming students from Malawi and there’s a lively African community here who’ll make you feel very welcome.
I myself come from Malawi and regularly visit Lilongwe and Blantyre.

Entry requirements

Please note that these entry requirements are guidelines only. If you have questions or if your qualification is not listed, please contact our specialist African student admissions team: africa@ntu.ac.uk.
You could study a foundation course at Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC).
You could study Bachelors degrees Year One.
2:1 = 70% / Pass with Marginal distinction
2:2 = 60% / Bare distinction or credit
You could study Postgraduate courses.
Good grade
You could study Postgraduate courses or research.
We accept many different tests and qualifications, including qualifications such as the Malawi Certificate of School Education (MSCE).
Students who do not meet the English language requirements may be required to take a pre-sessional English language (PEAP) course.
Scholarship for students from African countries
We offer prestigious, competitive scholarships worth up to 50% to new international and European students. You must have an offer to study a full-time postgraduate course at NTU in September 2024 to apply for a scholarship. See the full list of international scholarships.
We are pleased to offer up to £3,000 fee reduction to all high achieving Sub-Saharan African students. To be eligible you must:
- Achieve a 2.1 or 1st class degree from a recognised university in your Home nation.
- Be a resident and national of a Sub-Saharan African county.
To apply you will need to complete our online application form and tick the box which states you wish to be considered for the High Achievers Award.
Nottingham Law School (NLS) is pleased to offer one competitive scholarship up to a value of half your tuition fee.
We welcome applications from students from Nigeria who are holding an offer to study on a NLS full-time LLM Masters programme (not including LPC/BTC).
The scholarship will be awarded to the candidate who most closely meets the criteria for the award.

I returned to NTU, in January 2019 for my Ph.D. and it felt just like coming home. I am clearly biased, but I think NTU is the best for business and economics-related courses.
