The annual NTU-Mak Partnership event and student competition for World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Week took place in November 2024. It was organised by Dr Jody Winter (NTU), Grace Lubega (NTU) and Allan Ssembuusi (Makerere University) , with presentations from Dr David Musoke (Makerere University) and Prof Linda Gibson (NTU).
Participants joined the online event from around the world including the UK, Uganda, Egypt and Japan to celebrate the achievements of the partnership on antimicrobial stewardship over the past 5 years.
Students submitted creative comic strips and videos raising awareness of AMR and provided advice to members of the public on what they can do to help tackle it.
