Really enjoyed my time at Norton Court. Yes, it is not in the 'nicest' area of Nottingham, but it is gated and I'm a girl and I felt quite safe walking around most of the time (just wouldn't recommend doing this after dark) you just have to be sensible. The staff are so friendly and helpful; any issues we had in our flat, were dealt with quickly, you just have to ask. We even got an extra fridge because ours was a bit crowded. The rooms are pretty standard for the 'not-brand-new' accommodations. You get a reasonable sized desk, bed, cupboard and bathroom - key! It is a small room, but I didn't really feel cramped. Now for the bit that I was dreading when I was reading these reviews last year - the distance from uni. It is a 25 min walk to uni, and 15 min walk back. This is because of a rather steep hill that you will have to walk up. Yes, this is annoying but you do get used to it (and helps beat those 2am McDonalds). Honestly, I quite liked a bit of distance from the uni 'bubble'.

Very social halls. Great bus trips on freshers week to the clubs. If you don't like walking 20 mins to uni then get a years bus pass. Aldi and B&M are literally next door and are brilliant as its so cheap and I could do a weekly shop for about £15. Security guards are great. Pray you get one of the flats in block 1 (like I was) as you will get a modern kitchen but if you don't the kitchens in other blocks are not great. The Wi-Fi is good for streaming and was a bit patchy if you use it for gaming. The common room is good I only went in there once as I had good flat mates but if you don't get on with your flat make an effort to be social in the common room or with other people from your block. Make an effort with your flat opposite then it will just feel like one big flat of 12 if you get on. Its not in the best area as it is in Radford however I have walked home many times in just speedos from Ocean and I never had any trouble. Had the best year of my life here and met mates for life.
