Overseen by music industry professional, Spencer Wells, Denizen Records is an in-house record label that supports and develops NTU students’ musical and industry skills through advice, sign-posting and mentoring. The successful label has been running for over a decade, supporting hundreds of students.
Denizen is a student-focused record label and hot bed initiative at NTU that bridges academic study and the music industry.
Under the leadership of industry expert Spencer Wells, Denizen provides mentoring, development support, and hands-on label experience through various in-year projects.
Think of Denizen as a label services offer – helping to move student projects onto the next stage. Opportunities are open to all students across NTU, Nottingham and London

Have a music project that needs moving on to the next stage? You can apply for support, where a successful application will put you in touch with talent to progress your project – whether that's photography, mixing, recording, production, logo design or anything else you need to move your project on.
You'll also be supported with mentoring from Spencer to ensure your next steps are the most useful for your project.
Whether you're a talented graphic designer, photographer, stylist, sound engineer, session player, mixing engineer or have other skills that could enhance a commercial music project, we can pay you in vouchers to work on suitable projects.
