Inclusivity

NTU aims to nurture and sustain an inclusive learning and working environment, enriched by diversity, values and differences, and which promotes fairness, respect and equality of opportunity.

Ensuring the research environment is inclusive, accessible and equitable for all NTU staff and doctoral candidates is central to all our work in People, Culture and Environment. We recognise the positive impacts that this has on our students, staff, stakeholders, and our local community.

We are creating equitable pathways into research through the work of our Office for Students and Research England-funded project: Equity in Doctoral Education through Partnership and Inclusion (EDEPI).

We are committed to inclusive progression and promotion. Find out more about our Vice-Chancellor’s Future Research Leaders programme.

We support researchers on fixed-term contracts through our Research Assistant pool in the School of Social Sciences. We value diverse contributions to research which is why we have been a signatory of the Technician Commitment since 2017. Find out more about our current action plan.

We are proud of our awards, which highlight our proactive approach to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, as well as our commitment to creating an equitable research environment that is making a real difference
