Betul Gumus is a lecturer in Business Analytics in the Department of Management. She contributes towards teaching operations management, analytics, data analysis, statistics related modules in undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Betul also supervises undergraduate research projects in BA (Hons) International Business programme.
Betul joined Nottingham Business School in 2016 as an Associate Lecturer, she then became a Lecturer in 2019. She has been studying PhD in Operational Research at the University of Nottingham. She received MSc in Operational Research and Performance Management from Aston University and BSc in Industrial Engineering from Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul.
Betul’s research interests and activities lie at the interface of operational research, computer science and artificial intelligence, specifically optimisation of complex real-world problems using metaheuristics. Her other research interests include parameter tuning, intelligent decision support systems, multi-criteria decision making, performance measurement and data analytics.
