Carla Baker is an Academic Associate in Exercise Physiology. She currently teaches on undergraduate 1st year introduction to Sport and Exercise Physiology, 2nd year Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology and 1st year Develop Academic and Research skills.

Research areas

Carla Baker is a member of the Sport, Health and Performance Enhancement Centre. Her PhD focuses on the impact of stress on the endocrine and immune systems. Specifically, her research focuses on the impact of stress on the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) and hypothalamic pituitary gonadal axes. Additionally, her research also focuses on the impact that chronic exercise has on specific human immune cells immune cells i.e. Dendritic cells and T cells.
