Why did you get involved with the programme?

I joined the Fortitude programme because I wanted to grow as a global leader in the built environment and learn from professionals and peers beyond my immediate academic setting. The programme’s focus on leadership, mentorship, and personal development aligned perfectly with my long‑term goals in project management and quantity surveying. I was also drawn to Fortitude’s commitment to diversity and its mission to empower emerging leaders from around the world.

What did the programme involve and how did you benefit from it?

The programme combined leadership development workshops, mentorship sessions, professional presentations, Clifton Strengths and Principles. You assessments, and collaborative work with peers from nine different countries.

I benefited enormously from the structured goal‑setting, the exposure to global perspectives, and the opportunity to refine my communication and presentation skills. The mentorship and coaching helped me strengthen my confidence, clarify my career direction, and understand my strengths as a leader. Most importantly, I built meaningful relationships with a global network of emerging professionals in the built environment

What are your future plans and how has the programme helped you with these?

My future plans include progressing into a Project Management role, completing my PMP certification, and working towards RICS chartership. Long‑term, I aim to lead major international projects and contribute to innovation and transparency in the construction sector.

The Fortitude programme has been instrumental in shaping these ambitions. It helped me refine my professional identity, strengthen my leadership capabilities, and build the confidence to pursue opportunities at a global level. The mentorship and structured development have given me clarity, direction, and a strong foundation for the next stage of my career.

What advice would you give to a future student considering taking part in the programme?

I would encourage any student to take part with an open mind and a willingness to grow. The programme is a rare opportunity to learn from global peers, receive personalised mentorship, and develop both professionally and personally. Engage fully, be reflective, and make the most of the network you build. It will stay with you long after the programme ends
