L.E.A.P. (Listen, Engage and Analyse with the Public)
We at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) Biosciences believe research should involve everyone and improve health and wellbeing in society.

Our department is working on some of the most important health problems in society. That’s why we want to talk to you - the public - to learn about your thoughts and ideas on our research into dementia, cancer, diabetes, obesity, and infections.
By joining our public meetings held every 3 months, you can talk directly to our researchers, hear about the latest projects, and contribute your own views. Whether you have a personal passion for science or simply care about making a difference, your voice can help guide our research.
Each meeting will focus on a key health topic . You’ll be able to ask questions, inspire discussions, and give us feedback on our research.
We’re also looking for people to get even more involved! You can check our non-specialist applications for funding and make sure we are using the right language to communicate with the wider public.
If you're passionate about helping academic research that will lead to real-world solutions, we’d love to work with you.
So, whether you have a curious mind, are a community leader, or simply someone who cares about health issues, come and join us. Together, we can create research that truly makes a difference.
Get involved
Join us at our next event on 20 March where we'll be looking at what affects our metabolism and how this can lead to diseases like diabetes and obesity.
