Crime Scene Training Facility

The development of practical skills is a key theme of our Forensic Science courses and our facilities support our 'crime scene to court' approach to forensic analysis.

Crime Scene

Our dedicated crime scene facility is used to replicate a broad range of scenarios from burglaries and assaults to detailed drug searches. Students assume the role of crime scene examiners and are trained by our expert team to develop investigation, collection and analysis techniques.

Students have 7 rooms and a larger external area to experience all aspects of forensic investigation. The house has a briefing suite, CCTV room and also a blood pattern analysis laboratory. Students learn how to process the collected evidence in our state-of-the-art laboratory environment.

We are also developing an exciting range of online, virtual crime scene training packages to further enhance these facilities and support student learning.

Both Nottinghamshire Police and Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have used our facilities to develop their own forensic training programmes.
