Graphic Design and Illustration Facilities

Our graphic design and illustration facilities are based in the Waverley building – a beautifully restored, listed building with real design heritage – the original home of the Nottingham School of Art.

  • Studios dedicated to print, interactive media, and moving image.

  • 3D prototyping.

All of our workshops and equipment are supported by experienced technical staff.

You’ll also have the opportunity to use resources from across the Nottingham School of Art & Design and the wider university, including equipment such as:

  • Cintiq drawing stations and games console laboratories.
  • digital fabric printing facility
  • photographic studios with backgrounds and lighting
  • Boningtons Art Shop
  • Bonington Gallery
  • Café Bonington.

What our students think of our facilities

I’m really grateful for a lot of the facilities available to us; especially certain things that I would not otherwise had the chance to try out. At NTU I discovered my love for screen printing and paper treatments among many others. It’s also important to mention we have some really great technicians who are always there to help with projects and advise cool things to do that we may not have thought of otherwise.

The facilities are amazing! We have access to all sorts of equipment from laser cutting machines to professional standard filming and recording equipment. The tutors are always looking to invest in new equipment or ways to make the studio space more effective; it’s great that they care about our ideas for the spaces.
