More about Alexandra
Why did you choose NTU and your course?
Nottingham is a beautiful city, and Nottingham Trent offers so many opportunities within the course, fun socials and good opportunities to meet with professionals in the architectural industry. The Architecture studio and facilities are what made me choose this course, as I could really imagine myself working and creating great architectural designs there.
What do you think about the course staff? How do they support your learning and university experience?
The course staff are very knowledgeable and have worked in the industry themselves, so give good advice. It is nice how in the design studio, staff will help you along with your projects and encourage you to pursue what you enjoy. There is always someone in the faculty to speak to if any issues come up.
Have you been involved in any live projects of briefs on your course and if so, can you talk a bit about one you really enjoyed?
For most design studio projects we were able to visit the site and research current issues/opportunities. In the Technology & Environment module, we were able to follow a construction on-site in real-time, this was insightful to what the architectural industry is really like.
Does the “real” NTU match what you’d imagined? How does it compare with your friends’ experience at other universities?
Yes, it does. In comparison to other friends’ experiences, I think the NTU campus is a lot better – this is because of the buildings (Arkwright is my favourite!), Boots library, various restaurants and exhibitions.
How would you promote NTU to potential students in 10 words or fewer?
NTU sets you up for whatever the future may hold.
