More about Anastasia

Anastasia is a student on MA Interior Architecture and Design

Why did you choose to study at NTU?

I chose NTU mainly because of its high-ranking for Architecture. It also has a great reputation for quality of teaching, as well as our department's access to facilities, equipment and workshops.

What have you enjoyed most about your course so far?

The most exciting part of my experience so far has been the brief we received. It was very innovative and different than the ones you usually see. It challenged me to think out of the box and let my imagination do most of the work. It's an experience I didn’t have previously and really helped me grow as an Architect.

What's the student community like at NTU?

The student community at Nottingham Trent University is very active. There are so many societies and communities for anyone who wants to get involved. As a Course Representative in my master’s program, I am very active in that community, and as a Taekwondo athlete, I continue to train here as well.

What do you think about your course staff?

As a Course Representative, I've the opportunity to work closely with the IAD community staff. All of the staff are very friendly and they want to help students succeed. If there is a way to improve our experience, they will do it.

Does the “real” NTU match what you’d imagined? How does it compare with your friends’ experience at other universities?

Yes, it does. In comparison to other friends’ experiences, I think the campus, the library and the workshop facilities are a lot better.

How do you find the facilities on offer at NTU?

There is good access to the workshop and studio space which have long opening hours. The workshop staff are friendly and supportive with any questions you have, and they give us the opportunity to experiment with many different materials.

Boots Library is an amazing space. It offers books for every different subject you are looking for, as well as places to work. The best part is that it is open 24/7 to fit everyone’s needs.

In 10 words or fewer, how would you recommend NTU to students?

The staff will always help and encourage you to be the best version of yourself.
