Why NTU…

Why did you choose NTU and your course?

I chose NTU due to their good reputation within the construction industry. The course also led on nicely from my college course at West Notts College. Further to this, the sustainability side of construction is a great place to be in currently, due to the immense amounts of growth and demand to make the industry ‘greener’.

What do you think about the course staff? How did they support your learning and university experience?

The course staff were very knowledgeable and a big help in helping me pass the course.

What’s been your favourite module on your course and why?

I definitely tipped towards the modules that involved modelling software, as I rather enjoy using the software to create buildings etc.

What is it like studying at NTU in Mansfield?

It is close to home which is always a bonus. The facilities are well equipped and easily accessible.

How would you promote NTU to potential students in 10 words or fewer?

A great place to further your academic career.

Did you find it easy to make friends and settle in at NTU Mansfield?

Yes, I made friends rather easily and the course itself showed diversity which is always a nice bonus.

What is your current role? How have you implemented your learning from NTU into this role? What are the key skills and knowledge you have developed on this course?

Currently, I am working as a Sustainability Consultant at Focus Consultants, thanks to one of my course tutors who recommended me for the role. I will always be grateful for him contacting me regarding the placement.

Using the knowledge I gained from the course, I have been able settle into the job role rather quickly. Thank you to my hard work, I have now been offered a permanent position at Focus.

How is NTU helping you to achieve your career goals?

They improved my knowledge and gave me an opportunity to further progress my career in the Construction Industry. I could not be in a better position right now without NTU's help.

Advice...

What top tips would you give anyone thinking about studying your course at NTU?

Be prepared to be tested, but as long as you don’t let the workload creep up on you, you should do just fine.

Turning up to the lectures does really help and they are crucial for you to pass the course.
