Why NTU…
Why did you choose NTU and your course?
My chosen course of Product Design was a relatively easy decision for me, having grown up with a massive passion for the subject, I knew that this was the career path I wanted to follow. My decision to pick NTU stemmed from my first open day where I was immediately drawn towards the resources and quality of work in which was shown.
What do you think about the course staff? How do they support your learning and university experience?
The course staff are very involved and show a true passion for not only the subject, but the students as well. They are always there to keep every student on track and are keen to ensure that every student reaches their potential throughout every project.
Have you been involved in any live projects of briefs on your course and if so, can you talk a bit about one you really enjoyed?
I have already been involved in several live projects for different companies throughout first year, however Starpack certainly stood out as a favourite for me. I found this project very professional and the range of briefs meant that all students around the UK could choose the brief that they were most passionate about.
Does the “real” NTU match what you’d imagined? How does it compare with your friends’ experience at other universities?
I believe that NTU has given me all I expected and more as of so far. Ranging from the Student Life to the quality of teaching and resources available to us, I think that I have found the course and University that best suits my study style.
How would you promote NTU to potential students in 10 words or fewer?
A great University that makes you realise your true ability.
About the future...
What’s next for you after NTU?
Beyond NTU I hope to find a suitable job in an emerging Industry with strong links to technology, as this is a huge passion of mine. I am still looking for the specific aspect of design that I enjoy the most, however I feel this will become clearer to me throughout my remaining years on my course.
Has the employability team helped you plan for life beyond NTU?
The employability team has helped me massively regarding how to formally communicate with employers, and how to give yourself the best chances for landing jobs within the Design Industry through mastering techniques such as Cover letters and Portfolios.
