"I was interested in developing my pattern cutting techniques so that I could improve my designs, and be able to work visually on the mannequin. I am particularly interested in plus size fashion, and learning new methods has meant I can experiment and adapt the fit for a fuller figure.

"I knew that NTU had a good reputation as a university, as well as its fashion department. It was one of the few universities that offered this particular course which I felt suited me. The staff are very friendly and always on hand to help. I have been fully supported with regular one-to-one tutorials.

"It's great having access to the MA studio and the fact that it's open long hours. It has been very useful having both a fabric store and art store on site. The library is open 24 hours and has an extensive amount of facilities.

"I enjoy living in Nottingham and being able to experience being in a new city that is full of interesting history and culture. The city centre is full of interesting shops and friendly people, and Nottingham has great transportation in and around the city making it easy to explore.

"I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in developing their pattern cutting skills. It will open your mind to new possibilities and give you the confidence to be able to problem solve on your own.

"I think having a postgraduate qualification will give me a higher skill level as well as showing employers that I am hardworking and knowledgeable. I am now continuing on to the MA Fashion Design course and the PGCert Creative Pattern Cutting has enabled me to have the confidence to create more advanced garments."
