More about Eunchan

Can you tell us about your Masters project?
“My Masters project is about utilising social media for efficient communication with consumers.”

What do you enjoy most about your course at NTU?
“All my lectures and tutorials are so practical and relevant to my project. I’m learning things that I’ve always wanted to learn, including effective communication with consumers and ways to do it.”

What made you choose to study at NTU?
“I read student reviews that told me I could get all the support I wanted from the University, and it was true! I had a great amount of motivation and support from students and lecturers before I even started. I think that was the reason why I choose NTU. Also, it was cheaper than other universities in London.”

How do you find the course staff?
“The course staff are really helpful and have supported me in various ways. They listen to my viewpoints, what I need, and they always try to get me to explore different ways of thinking, motivating me to be creative. It’s really helped me a lot.”

What do you think about the facilities available to you?
“The facilities at NTU are fantastic. The new Macs in the Barnes Wallis building and the library offer almost everything I want.”

As an international student, what do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?
“Nottingham has its own mood and identity that I enjoy and love. I lived in London for about two and half years while I was a teenager, before I returned back to my country. My memories of living in London was not that beautiful. Therefore, I was a little worried about coming back to the UK. However, after living in Nottingham, I realised that I had nothing to worry about as Nottingham is a great city with friendly people.”

Have you been on any course trips?
“I went to Paris and Antwerp for a field trip. I’d previously been to Paris on a tour, but I’d never been to Antwerp. Paris was just as I thought it would be – busy and noisy, but I thought the fashion walking tour and Première Vision exhibition were marvellous. Antwerp more than fantastic. The city was so artistic and the two-hour fashion tour made me want to go back again. Just being there improved my thoughts on fashion and has made me feel more artistic.”

Why would you recommend your course to someone thinking of studying it?
“The MA Fashion Communications course offers you the chance to broaden yourself. The course is not only about being academic throughout the year; it will broaden your thoughts and turn you into a more creative person.”

How do you think the course, and having a postgraduate qualification, will help you to progress your career?
“The whole process of achieving my postgraduate qualification, the subjects I’ve learned, lectures I had, and all the tutorials and sessions has helped me progress.”

How did you find out about NTU’s international scholarships, and how has it helped you?
“I received an international scholarship, which lessened my burden financially. I attended NTU’s Scholarship Awards ceremony, and I met several students who were doing interesting projects. We were able to share details of our projects, and this helped me develop different methods to solve problems.”
