What made you choose to study at NTU?
"The open day was the thing that swayed me. I liked the city's vibe as it reminded me of a mini Manchester except everything is in walking distance here. I knew it was the right place for me when I looked around the fashion studios, they were extremely spacious, clear and white."

What do you enjoy most about your course?
"I enjoy that you have the opportunity to go through the entire design and development process from the initial research stage to a polished final product and professional portfolio. I also enjoy how experimental the course is, you can focus on what you as an individual are most interested in."

Has the course included any live projects?
"In Year Two you undertake a live group project set by industry. Every year a different industry leader will set this brief, in my year it was Ted Baker and the winners were invited to do work experience at the Ted Baker HQ in London."

Has the course included any industry competitions?
"On my course there are loads of competitions to enter, especially in final year. In Year Two I entered the David Nieper Scholarship Award competition in which I set out to design a range of cruise wear for the successful older woman. I was lucky enough to win this competition and received a £3,000 cash prize."

What do you think about the course staff?
"The tutors are lovely and very supportive. They'll give you direction when necessary but do not try to push you to think in a certain way about design. It's beneficial that the classes are so small as it allows your tutors to get to know your design aesthetic and give you useful individually tailored suggestions."

What do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?
"You get the best of both, a good party city with social opportunities and a really good education with great facilities."

Why would you recommend your course?
"You get everything you want out of the course, 2D and 3D design practice, supportive tutors, competition opportunities and good industry links; all without paying ridiculous London prices."
