Lecturers and tutors have experience across all aspects of the course. As many are still practising designers in their own right, their experience of the industry is second-to-none.
More about Jonathan
“I most enjoy the freedom we have to explore the different aspects of Graphic Design. This is due to the range of briefs we have to choose from; from staff written briefs, industry live briefs and the option to write your own too.
“In Year Two I worked on a brief from independent record label Snapper music. I was briefed to create a music video for a new single by one of their signed artists. Despite not being chosen to go into production, it proved a great opportunity to work with someone outside the University.
“The course offers briefs from D&AD, YCN, International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD), RSA, Hallmark and lots more! This year I’ve submitted work for an RSA competition which was all about reducing food waste.
“Guest lecturers are scheduled for most Wednesdays during term time. Recently Jonathan Barnbrook came and spoke about his practice and experience in industry, having set up his own studio virtually straight after leaving university in 1990.
“The staff are an invaluable asset to our learning. Lecturers and tutors have experience across all aspects of the course. As many are still practising designers in their own right, their experience of the industry is second-to-none. The technicians provide essential day to day support on producing work to the desired outcome, whether this is help with software, photographic equipment or printing techniques.”
