More about Lucyna

Can you tell us about your Masters project?
“My Masters project is about Artificial Intelligence in fashion industry retail. Throughout the course, I realised that cultures, shifting customer preferences and other micro and macro factors influence the fashion industry more dynamically than ever. While the competition is growing fast, retailing is also becoming more challenging.

“As a result, many brands, especially small local businesses, are losing the battle as most technical retailing solutions are too expensive for their businesses. Through my project choice, I will suggest my own business solution to support this emerging trend.”

What do you enjoy most about your course at NTU?
“I like the professional staff approach, the facilities including the library and data accessibility, and NTU’s multinational environment.”

What made you choose to study at NTU?
“NTU has very good student feedback, future employment opportunities, and a fashion-related Masters programme.”

How do you find the course staff?
“I consider the staff to be well chosen; especially those who are working in the industry running their own businesses, on top of being a lecturer.”

As an international student, what do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?
“It’s a very nice small city with history. Most of the shops and services are within walking distance, which is a big convenience. Moreover, the city is focused on students that influence the positive atmosphere.”

Why would you recommend MA International Fashion Management to someone thinking of studying it?
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, hence I’d recommend it to everybody.”

How do you think the course, and having a postgraduate qualification, will help you to progress your career?
“I believe that this particular specialisation in international management with a creative approach to fashion broadens my perspectives and enables me to look widely at many ongoing factors influencing fashion.”

Can you tell us more about your study trip to Paris?
“Première Vision was the highlight of my trip. I also enjoyed the fashion sightseeing tours and our visit to the Trend Union forecasting office. Personally, I very much enjoyed the tour as we were told interesting stories about fashion in Paris.”

Do you think the trip was useful for your Masters project?
“The trip has helped me gather research for my Masters project, and I also got the opportunity to discover Paris and Antwerp from a different perspective, not just as a tourist.”
