More about Mohini
What made you choose to study at NTU?
“NTU was awarded a gold rating in the government’s new teaching excellence framework for their outstanding teaching and learning; this was the primary reason I chose to study at NTU. Recently NTU has also been named university of the year 2017 which has made me proud of my decision to become a part of this university.”
Can you tell us a little bit about your Masters project?
“I’ve worked within the retail sector of the fashion industry and knew how an international brand works at a store level. I came to NTU with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of the fashion retail industry. The course is giving me an insight on brands at an operational level, and what is needed to become an inspirational leader.
“I’m writing my research proposal on personalisation in Omni channel retailing. This includes areas such as consumer behaviour, the impact of digitalisation and the globalisation of international brands.”
What do you enjoy most about your course?
“I like the engaging and interactive lectures and seminars. Putting forward my views and opinions and receiving feedback is really valuable.”
What do you think of the course staff?
“The course staff are one of the best things about the course. They are always ready to help and are very approachable. The vast amount of knowledge and experience they have is invaluable.”
As an international student, what do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?
“As an international student, I feel that the student union and Global Lounge are the best part of living and studying here in Nottingham. It is a student city where everyone is friendly and welcoming. This is one of the best benefits of being in a multicultural environment.”
Why would you recommend your course to a prospective student?
“This course gives you all the skills required for successfully working in the international fashion industry. You’ll learn how different areas of the industry work together, and benefit from international study trips and guest lectures from working professionals.”
How did you feel when you won an NTU international scholarship?
“It was one of the best feelings I have ever experienced. I felt very motivated when I won it, as it involved a fee reduction, and my hard work and efforts were recognised.”
